The power of openness! My life experience on being open and warm hearted.

All that I am saying here is from my own experience

Smiling at a stranger while waiting for green light. Asking the lift operator or security guard weather he/she had their meal. Saying hello or smile at every person who makes eye contact. Having a conversation with your Uber driver or barber. The list goes on.

All these are gestures of compassion, friendliness or any other positive adjective we can use. Why am I even saying this here?

What is openness? We always refer to the dictionary for the meaning or explanation for a word. But I often feel that every word we use has more meaning to it than what the dictionary says.

Openness for me is being free with people, being able to express myself and be myself with others. An open person will have nothing to hide in his/her life. No secrets and no drama. A person with an open mind will always feel light and stress free.

A warm hearted being spreads positivity to all around them. Being open can also be called being straight forward. But that is not what I am talking about here.

Treating every individual equally irrespective of their ethnicity, age, job, religion or nationality. Considering every person who comes across us as an individual just like us. I am not saying that I am the only individual who does all this. Majority of humanity thinks like me. But, we definitely need to improve and people who doensnt have this humility will have to change.

Now, I am not saying one cannot get angry or irritated with others. All that is normal and we are emotional beings after all. It is completely fine to be who you are and what you feel. All I am talking about is the bigger picture, where people pass racist comments, physically or mentally torture others with a prejudiced mindset. Every individual in the world is unique. You cannot find a single person just like you in this whole Universe. Every person has an equal right to live in this planet just like I do or We do. We are nobody to control anybody’s life directly or indirectly. This includes situations like war, economic crises caused by some greedy minds, pollution and many similar issues.

When I say openess, it does not mean you can’t have any secrets or personal privacy. I don’t think anymore explanation is required on what I am trying to convey. All of you are intelligent enough to get the point. But the point is not just to comprehend, but to take actions.
